- File a privacy complaint without retaliation
How We Use Health Information
We may use or disclose protected health information for treatment, payment, and healthcare operations.
We may also disclose information when permitted or required by law, including for public-health activities, legally authorized oversight, research with required protections, workers’ compensation, certain law-enforcement requests, and lawful legal proceedings.
Written authorization is required when applicable, including for certain marketing activities, the sale of protected health information, and most uses or disclosures of separately maintained psychotherapy notes.
Some information may receive additional protection under federal or Kansas law, including sexual and reproductive health information, STI and HIV-related information, genetic information, certain minor-patient records, and substance-use-disorder patient records.
